Message from the President of MAHCP

Today Manitoba’s health care system forces health care consumers to wait too long for medical testing and treatment, placing their physical and mental well-being in peril. Across the entire health care continuum, the group that touches the patient in more ways than any other is the allied health care professional group - often represented by MAHCP members. In most cases, a patient will be touched more times by allied health care professionals during the course of their illness than by physicians and nurses combined. The Manitoba Association for Health Care Professionals (MAHCP) will wait no longer. On behalf of every Manitoban, the MAHCP continues to work to Eliminate the Wait.

We believe the most effective healthcare system would provide:

• immediate testing
  
• immediate appointments to see a specialist
  
• immediate treatment for medical conditions
  
• immediate placement with a physician of one’s choice

The future of Manitoba’s most basic life-sustaining services is in our collective
hands. Be a part of the future of Manitoba health care as we strive to Eliminate the Wait.
